During September, National Grid and its consultants continued the design process to support the implementation of the next two phases of the Remedial Action Plan for the Hempstead Intersection Street MGP site.  Soil sampling field activities were completed for the Supplemental Pre-Design Investigation to support the in-situ solidification phase of the remedy.  Design work continued for the In-Situ Solidification project and the offsite oxygen delivery systems.  We also continued discussions with neighbors of the site to obtain access agreements for installing the oxygen delivery systems.

Upcoming work will include completing the pre-design investigation report for the In-Situ Solidification project and oxygen delivery systems, and initiating the contractor procurement process for the oxygen delivery systems.  We will also be preparing a report on the Groundwater Sampling and NAPL Monitoring/Recovery activity for the 3d Quarter of 2009. The Groundwater Sampling and NAPL Monitoring/Recovery Report for the 2d Quarter has been added to the Major Report tab in the Key Documents section of the website.
