Weeks Ending November 4th and November 11th 2012

The site activities were suspended for the weeks of October 29th, and November 5th due to the aftermath of the recent storms in the region.

Beginning the week of November 12th, site activities will resume with Deep Soil Mixing (DSM) and importation of DSM reagent materials and Site activities will continue to focus on the DSM solidification with occasional off-site transportation and disposal of soils.

Site activities will also be suspended from November 21st thru November 25th for the Thanksgiving Holiday.

A spring 2012 Project Update Fact Sheet was mailed out to the Community to provide a project schedule update and a summary of the ongoing remediation work.  This Fact Sheet and the finalized Remedial Action Work Plan can also be found in the Key Documents/Major Reports section of this website. A link to the Fact Sheet can be found below. The work is being performed in accordance with the Community Air Monitoring Plan that was reviewed by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, New York State Department of Health and the Nassau County Department of Health. There is an on-site NYSDEC representative monitoring the project activities.

As work proceeds, the web site will be updated periodically to ensure the community is informed of the project progress and schedule
